How You've Styled It: A DEWEY Guide Recap

From wide-leg jeans to oversized scarves to trendy flares, How-To-Style-It has tackled both seasonal trends and timeless wardrobe staples alike with our first three editions. We’ve covered our favourite tips and tricks for extra petite styling, using our unique knowledge and experiences with proportions to shape our guides.

During the height of winter, we walked through how to pair a trench coat with a scarf, showing you how to optimise extra petite proportions while maximising comfort. As denim fever swept the high street, How-To-Style-It showcased our favourite ways to style both classic cuts and modern trends. Lastly, we styled DEWEY’s cult-favourite MIRA Flares (the quintessential extra petite flared leggings) for all occasions and day-to-night looks.

With each new post, we’ve loved seeing you bring each DEWEY Guide to life, adding in your own unique flair and personal style. Our strong community of DEWEY ambassadors have taken on this challenge, each styling DEWEY pieces fit the biweekly themes.  Read ahead for our favourite ways you’ve styled it.

How-You’ve-Styled-It…a Long Coat and Scarf with Lucy Sleight

Lucy effortlessly showcases the perfect transitional outfit between winter and spring, styling the DEWEY ADA Sweatpants and BAILEY crewneck with a stylish long coat and scarf. We love a monochromatic outfit, as it's the perfect way to elongate your silhouette with a more streamlined look.  Always an easy go-to, monochrome outfits  also strike a balance between modern and polished.

Thanks to its versatile cut, a long coat is a must-have layering piece between the seasons. Switch out your wool long coat for a lighter trench to add a touch of spring to your wardrobe. This cool grey that Lucy wears here is an ideal colour for this time of year.

Lucy finishes off the look with a slick pair of white trainers, adding to the “effortlessly-cool vibes” of the outfit. You can also add a textural element, swapping out a brushed scarf for a knit one. Lucy proves that transitioning your style between seasons can be effortless with the right wardrobe essentials.

How-You’ve-Styled-It…Denim with Karen Goodbrand

Is there any fabric more timeless than denim? Blue denim is definitely Karen’s colour, as she styles DEWEY’s ALEX t-shirt range with classic denim pieces. The key to denim is the fit, which Karen nails here. These jeans are a perfect example of what well-fitting denim can do for extra petites, creating an enhancing silhouette that's easy to replicate.

We love Karen’s accessorising here. Letting her personal style shine with a chic ascot, she proves that denim is a must-have for effortless experimentation. Use denim as a springboard for testing out trends, playing with colour, or making a bold fashion statement.

Finding well-fitting denim as an extra petite can be a real challenge, as length, proportion, and cut all play a huge role in getting that ideal silhouette. Too long, and you’re drowning in fabric; too loose, and your shape gets lost. That’s why a well-tailored pair, like the ones Karen wears here, makes all the difference. High-rise styles help elongate the legs, while a cropped or tapered hem prevents overwhelming the frame. When you finally find that pair that fits just right, it becomes a game-changer, elevating any denim-forward ensemble.

How-You’ve-Styled-It… Flared Leggings with Holly Gardner

We’ll be honest: we’re obsessed with our MIRA Flares at DEWEY.  We love seeing how you style them, whether they’re your gym-wear essential or your favorite go-to for casual coffee runs. With a flattering silhouette and buttery-soft fabric, flares have earned a special spot in our wardrobes.

Holly styles her flares flawlessly. Perfectly fitting her 4’11” frame, Holly wears her flares with a cropped white cardigan and neutral-toned tee. She uses colour-blocking and proportionality to her advantage, defining her waist to create a complementary balance. Pair with your go-to trainers to add a touch of personal flair.

The accessories are a great way to elevate the ensemble. Adding hair band and hoop earrings, as influencer Emma Chamberlin did famously, creates a “post-pilates-chic” look. Holly proves flares can be incredibly chic beyond the gym, incorporating them into her everyday outfits.
